Hi Lovelies! Are you having a nice weekend? My boyfriend and I went for a hike with friends yesterday. We like to see new places, since this country has so much great nature to offer and after finding a little article online about an insider hiking tip, we decided to give it a go. It already sounded great, just reading about it, but once we got there I was seriously in awe. It was stunning! From all I’ve seen of Switzerland so far, this must be the most amazing spot. Very remote and simply idyllic.
I would really like to share this beautiful location with you, but promise to keep it secret ok? ; )
We took a little gondola lift up the mountains in the alps to reach a small village called Golzern. The view from up there was magical. You are completely surrounded by mountains and the village lays between green rolling hills.
The houses are mostly quite old and typical swiss, wooden and rustic.
After walking for about half hour (we walked quite slowly ;)), you reach a beautiful little mountain lake.
Fritzi and his friend Jackson were unstoppable when they smelled the water.
But who wouldn’t wanna jump in when you see this clean water surrounded with the most amazing scenery?
I couldn’t resist either (even though that meant jumping in with trousers and T-Shirt!). The water wasn’t even cold – it was a perfectly refreshing swim!
Even the cows seemed to like to be near the water!
After drying of in the sun, we had a snack at one of the mountain restaurants before hiking downhill.
The winding road takes you through the forest and grass fields, where you’ll meet lots of cows and pass pretty wild flowers.
We also picked small strawberries and deliciously sweet raspberries along the way.
At the end of the hike we walked along a rushing river – I was amazed by the variety of this hike, it really has it all!
Along the road, you’ll find many spots with crystals that you can buy. It made me smile to see that they just put a cashbox next to the crystals, trusting that the people will pay. I love this about Switzerland! It feels so safe and innocent. See, this cashbox even still had the key on it!
Looking at the pictures I’m still amazed by this wonderful place and plan to go back soon. Happy times!

July 18, 2015 at 9:04 amHahaha, sometimes the water just looks too inviting and I can\’t help myself! 😛 Luckily it was warm enough for the clothes to dry of quickly after. You should definitely visit that place one day – maybe we can go together!
