I’ve been making green smoothies almost every day now since 3 weeks (it became an addiction) and today I want to share another favorite of mine. As you might know, I like my green smoothies to taste sweet and not too much like vegetables, so I love adding citrus flavor, banana and apples. For the “green” this green smoothie I used spinach and lamb’s lettuce, which are both very mild in taste but rich in nutritions.
When I don’t find spinach on the market, I like buying it frozen because of three reasons. For one, I like to avoid the plastic that supermarkets often sell the spinach in. The frozen spinach comes in a cardboard box. The other reason is that it comes in little portions, like you see in the picture, which comes very handy for making smoothies. And since spinach is frozen right after they harvest it, it is still rich in all its nutritions. It’s a win win ๐
While shopping in the organic store I found another great addition for green smoothies. Linseed-pumkinseed-hemp oil. It is rich in omega 3-6-9 fats and has a nutty taste. I love it!
So here is the recipe (it makes 1 big glass)
- juice of two organic tangerines
- 1 banana (peeled)
- 1 small organic apple (seeded, with skin on)
- 1 handful lamb’s lettuce
- 1 handful spinach or 2 cubes frozen spinach
- 1 small piece of lemon (with skin still on)
- 1 tbsp linseed-pumpkinseed-hemp oil or just linseedoil
- 3 leafs of basil (optional)
- 100 ml water
