„Glad Midsommar!“ This weekend Sweden is celebrating midsummer, so I thought I post a pic of the other day, that just happened to have a Swedish feel to it. Swedish cinnamon buns, geranium flowers and other hygge stuff. 😄
But can we just stop for a second and reflect on the fact that almost half of the year passed by already? It has been a turbulent one so far. Turbulent in the outer world and also in my personal word. There is change on the horizon and though it can be frightening, it will be good.
I‘m hoping for a constructive second part of the year. With positive future shaping, people sticking together, environmental achievements, respectful dialogues, less hate, more kindness and a big portion of open hearts. Is that too much to ask for? Naah, I think we can all do that. So I say Cheers to part two of 2020! 🥂🌍🌈✨ What do you hope for, for these next months?

Yesterday I was looking at social media posts with mixed feelings. On one hand it was beautiful to watch people unite for a very important topic, fighting against racism. On the other hand I read so many negative comments, especially on big accounts with huge followership, telling them they address the topic too late or in the wrong way. It makes me sad to see this, because in my opinion it is not about how we address a certain topic but where our heart is set and from which place the words come. Sure, we can all learn along the way and there are always ways to improve, but why not take eachothers hand and walk down that road together? There is no need for bashing someone who is already on the right road. It‘s only gonna create unnecessary borders to overcome. The same goes for a lot of topics actually. Change never comes from perfect individuals but from hundreds and thousands of people who start with the right intention, learn from eachother and grow together. Let this be our guide in the fight against racism as well as the fight for our planet. How ironic that we have to overcome one to reach the other. The earth is home to all of us and together we are just a spec in the universe. It‘s all connected. We are all connected. One. It seems so simply, why do humans always have to build hierarchy and borders?

It‘s been such a lovely weekend. We visited frie

It‘s been such a lovely weekend. We visited friends for two days and just took it easy. Chilling in the garden, playing with the kids and of course... eating lots of food! 😃 I made another big batch of Kanelbullar to bring with. Those cinnamon rolls are my new thing I guess! 😄😋 I made them four weekends in a row and everybody loves them. The smell alone, when they come steaming from the oven, is already worth making them. 😆
The recipe I always make, is a veganized version from a small swedish Cafe that my family and I once visited when I was a kid. The owner of the Cafe was so sweet to share the recipe with us after we told her how amazing they were. You can find the recipe on my blog. And don‘t ever think to only make half of the recipe... you can never make too many kanelbullar! They will be gone in no time! They are perfect to share with your loved ones, neighbors or colleagues! 😊

My morning routine varies from time to time. There are some things I do irregularly, like meditating, stretching, oil pulling or running. And then there are things I do pretty much every day: getting ready (selfcare), tidy the apartment and clean the kitchen while listening to a podcast or audiobook, and once @_mr_julien gets up, I prepare a coffee. ☕️ As much as I enjoy and take time to drink it, I enjoy the preparation. You might have notice, if you follow my Insta stories! 😄 For some reason it really calms me and sets a nice mood for the day. From choosing the cup to getting the water temperature right and smelling the ground coffee... I celebrate it! 😃

In times like these I feel like it is especially important to turn to nature and discover small wonders of life. With all the outer distractions nature can help us turn inwards and find a peaceful moment. Playing with this pine cone and watching the light break through felt like a mini meditation! 😊 Nature is so beautiful and it doesn‘t take a Grand Canyon to experience something spectacular! We just have to open our eyes and look around us. 💫

This weekend I got to experience being a full time aunt! 😃 For the first time my niece came to sleep over at our place without her parents. Eventhough I was a bit sceptical if everything would go smoothly, it turned out to be so much fun! Starting with a little kitchen baking party, then walking our neighbor dog, playing at the playground, having cinnamon rolls and laughs with our neighbor-friend and finally falling asleep while watching Lady And The Tramp. She seemed to really enjoy the day and it also brought out the inner child in me! All the affection, laughs, play time and the pure heart of a child always fills me with such positive energy! 💫💕 We decided to do this more often, so I thought I ask you for advice: which other fun activities do you suggest for next time?

Ever since Fritzi passed away it is difficult for me to walk those paths that we used to walk together. So I‘ve been exploring new areas, like the big park-cemetery that is close by. I never really walked there before, because dogs are not allowed. Now that I‘m discovering it, I‘m amazed by the beauty! Like this small hilly flower field. Isn‘t it magic? How I love win-win situations! In the supermarket I often come across bananas, which are “too“ old and discounted. I always buy a bunch of those, not only to save them from the trash but also because ripe bananas are perfect for baking, smoothies, nicecream etc.! Simply store them in a tupperware and freeze until needed. Win-Win! 🍌

Since spring has sprung we spend more time on the

Since spring has sprung we spend more time on the balcony. Until today I was a bit lazy to clean and tidy up the outdoor space BUT after I bought a beautiful new plant I finally had a spark of motivation. 😃 Most of the decorations on our balcony are shabby second hand finds. Like the white basket, which I bought in second hand shop in Denmark.
Next steps will be cleaning the floor and I‘m also thinking about adding small bunting garland. What do you think?
