Hello friends and Happy Holidays!
I hope you’re all enjoying these rather quiet days, doing things that bring you happiness and spending time with people you love.
Just a few weeks back it felt like Christmas is still so far away and just like that, it’s already over again! Maybe it felt this way because the last few weeks were very busy, but either way it has been a wonderful time with fun and joyful moments, some of which I wanted to share as long as it’s not too late for a Christmas blogpost. Most importantly though, don’t miss the “easy-to-make” recipe for pumpkin spiced hot chocolate. So good! 😉
While I was still in Hamburg I met with some girlfriends for a fun Christmas get together. This year we chose quite a special place for it, the Four Season Hotel. During this season it is decorated so beautifully and we spent a really cozy evening there. Since it is a super fancy place it almost feels like being in a different world… a Downton Abbey kinda world! 😀 It was definitely the right place to catapult you straight into Christmas mood.
Back in Switzerland I met a friend for baking vegan Christmas cookies, which was also really fun! We put on music, had a hot apple punch and spent all evening making gingerbread cookies, snicker-doodles, freestyle-cashew-oat-cookies and fingerprint cookies. And since Fritzi is visiting (hurray!), he was of course watching us closely – there might be some crumbs falling to the ground, you never know! 😉
There was (and still is) a lot of pumpkin spiced hot chocolate action going on! You also want some? Just swirl together 1 cup plant-based milk + 1 tsp unsweetened dark cocoa + 1/2 tsp pumpkin spice + 1 tbsp maple sirup. You won’t regret it!
We took a lovely stroll through Zürich, enjoying all those pretty Christmas lights and cozy atmosphere.
This year we celebrated Christmas Day as relaxed as never before. Since it was just the three of us (my boyfriend, Fritzi and I) we decided to just take it easy. We took a beautiful walk (luckily it was very sunny) and when we came back we filled our plates with a veggie tajine and sat down on the couch to watch movies like Little Women, 1001 Dalmations and The Holiday… Lovely!
We basically didn’t get up from the couch anymore, which was totally fine with me! And also Fritzi enjoyed the cozy day, as you can see.
Like us, he only got up to eat. He even got quite the fancy veggie meal with lentils, carrots, kale, mushrooms and pumpkin. Oh yeah!
Meanwhile we indulged on these tasty dishes:
Last but definitely not least I wanted to share a little video with you. If you follow my blogposts, you probably know a lot about Fritzi already, but did you know that he loves gifts? Unwrapping gifts is a passion… he will gladly help anyone, who has to unwrap something. And once he gets a new toy, he is in heaven, playing with it, and no other toy, for days. But to be honest, I don’t know who enjoys the gift giving more, Fritzi or me. Watching him always makes me laugh! Maybe you’ll feel the same way…
