Green Tips & Reviews Home Living

Things I ♥… in February 2013

February 25, 2013

Like in my post from last August, I want to share some of the things with you that I am recently loving.

1. Grapefruit with maple sirup for breakfast

yummy!

yummy!

Believe it or not, I just came to learn the pleasure of a cut sweet grapefruit for breakfast after all these years! But now I am making it quite often and even bought a special grapefruit knife! My favorite way to sweeten it is maple sirup…

2. “Let The Good Times Roll” facial cleanser from LUSH

♥

This facial cleanser smells so good that I’m almost tempted to eat it. No wonder…. it has popcorn in it! Thank you Anna, for this great gift!

3. Walks in the snowy forests

This is me, taking a break 😉 Thanks for the picture Christian

It had been very snowy this february in Switzerland. Especially on sunny days I enjoy long walks in the forest. The air is so fresh and when I come home I feel much more energetic.

4. Decorating with branches

As you can see in this and this post, I’ve been bringing back a lot of branches from my forest walks lately. It’s a very eco friendly way to decorate and I just love the looks of it.

5. Landlust “Holunder & Minze” Tea

This tea with elder and mint is currently my favorite. It tastes fresh and sweet… just the right mix for my taste!

6. Cookbook “Greenbox” by Tim Mälzer

♥

Germanys TV cook Tim Mälzer published a new cookbook and this time it’s a meat-free cookbook full with many wonderful vegetarian and vegan recipes. I also love the design and the photography, which makes it even more fun to flip through. Another bonus is the seasonal recipe register. A great new addition to my cookbook collection!

7. Collecting glass jars for food storage

Glas Jars

Glas Jars

Since the beginning of the year I’ve been trying to only shop food that doesn’t come in plastic. So a lot of things I buy come in glass jars. I started collecting the nice ones to store food like, nuts, rice, lentils, beans or dried chillies in them.

8. Homemade plant based milk

Since I made my first almond milk, I became a huge fan of homemade plant based milk! It’s easy and quick to make and tastes so delicious. And the best – I know exactly what’s in it. So far I tried oat milk, almond milk and hazelnut milk. All of them were fantastic!

9. Documentary “Searching For Sugar Man”

A magical story...

A magical story…

This documentary just touched my heart. It tells the story of a great musician and human being who never got recognized for his music until long time after he stopped making music. The crazy thing, he was a big star in South Africa and never knew about it. But I won’t tell the whole story, just wanted to tell you that you should really watch it. It by the way got the Oscar for best documentary last night! It deserved it…

10. Reusable napkins from Etsy

♥

Etsy is one of my favorite sites. I love browsing the many shops and find all kinds of practical, pretty and eco friendly things. One of my newest buys are these cute reusable squirrel napkins. They are handmade of organic cotton. Check out the shop of Oh, Little Rabbit!
